A season for homemade crafts

A re-ignited venture is happening this year as I’ve joined the craft fair bandwagon. At the turn of the millennium, I was busily making a variety of sewn goods such as toilet roll holders, wall-hangers and felt names – this pic of  my first and only ‘catalogue’ confirms my enthusiasm:

However, when dad passed away suddenly in 2002, the venture died with him. Amazing that now 18 years later, the season has reappeared and here’s two sale items:

Along with a couple of homemade crafts, I’m marketing water filters (part of our plumbing business) and ‘A Single Mum’s Journey’. What an answer to pray when I had a book sale at February’s Martinborough fair. The lovely purchaser shared how as a single mother she didn’t feel supported by her church. She revealed that she too has blended so you can imagine we could have talked all day.  Later I reflected that ‘A Single Mum’s Journey’ was now in the hands of someone other than friend or family. I do hope we connect again and have the opportunity to talk some more.

Seventh of March will see round two of the Martinborough fair. I’m busily revamping the mini tables and making hessian tissue-box covers.  Table cloths that go all the way to the ground are also on the to-do-list.  Lord willing, there will be more action at my stand and more opportunity for book conversations.
Following that is March madness in Upper Hutt 21st March.

Conversations is where I hope this blogging, attending fairs and other ventures will lead. Opportunity to share, listen, encourage and communicate about Jesus Christ.

Looking forward to sharing with you fortnightly  ….

Love Jo
