Welcome to Straight Paths Ministry
We are four biblical counsellors who represent three churches in the Wellington Region (details below).
Our training has been in the completion of the Nouthetic Counselling Certificate (nouthetic.org) along with ongoing development training through Growth Counselling Institution NZ (Growth Counselling Institution).
With this training and the presence of the Holy Spirit we are about giving counsel and hope to those who are feeling weary and burdened … ‘let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith …’ Hebrews 12:1-2.
We believe in the total sufficiency of Scripture for application to situations in our lives where we struggle to glorify God.
‘Our progressive sanctification - that is, our putting off sin and putting on Christlikeness - rests on two foundation stones: the righteousness of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.’ (Jerry Bridges).
